Assignment #9: Reflection

The article that I had selected for the bibliography fits into my potential research because it relates to my future goal and achievement in becoming a nurse and someone in the medical field. I wanted to see a broader scope of the medical workplace from every perspective. From the negative to the positive points, I wanted to research the medical practice and workplace candidly. Also, the effect of adding in personal experiences and testimonies would add in the importance and significance of the presence of nurses.

The article discusses major experiences and shares the story from many different nurses. Before reading this article, I was never aware of the true raw feeling of death among the medical professionals; I always thought from the family’s perspective of death and the toll it had on them. However, I was awakened to the presence and toll of death in the medical professionals. Even though the event of death from children may be traumatic, it trained and shaped the nurses, doctors, and people in the medical field to be ready for the events and deaths of patients ahead of them. Also, the children that had to experience the transition of life, the nurses and doctors were able to help support them in this transition. This research and article help me discover examples and references that I could use to help me exemplify the importance of nurses in the community.
